William Bill Peacock passed away April 8, 2015. He was born June 19, 1927 in Atlanta, GA, the son of William Luther Peacock, Sr. and Edna Reid Peacock. He graduated from Tech High and Emory University where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from U.S. Public Health Service – CDC after thirty three years of research microbiology during which time he was listed in Who’s Who of American Science. He was an accomplished sailor and member of the University Yacht Club. He enjoyed other hobbies, including N-gauge trains, tropical fish, and reading historical novels. He was devoted to his wife and family and is survived by his wife of 64 years, Louisa Davis Peacock , son, Davis Peacock and wife Denise, daughter Claire Peacock, and grandsons Christian Cain, Reid Peacock and wife Catherine, and Gabriel Peacock, great grandchildren Riley Cain and Xander Cain.
Memorial Service to be held Tuesday, April 14 at 1:00 pm at Oak Grove United Methodist Church, 1722 Oak Grove Rd., Decatur 30033, with the Rev. Mary Lou Gilbert and the Rev. Dr. Amy Morgan officiating. Reception will follow in the Church Parlor. Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to the United Methodist Children’s Home, 500 S. Columbia Drive, Decatur, GA 30030 or the American Kidney Fund, 112921 Rockville Pike, Ste 300 Rockville, MD 20852.
