We loved Tom and we’ll miss his humor, laughter, and stories. The Lord could use a beekeeper and fishing buddy! He was as good as they come!
Tom was always fun to hang with as he had a wonderful outgoing personality. He loved to tell jokes and always looked at the bright side of life. We will miss him and his good cheer.
Dear all,
We will love Uncle Tom and remember him fondly for the rest of our lives. May the Lord give you all comfort in that he was so loved by so many.
Love you,
Margaret & Lucky
Uncle Tom – we will always remember the wonderful Thanksgiving turkeys you fixed for us all!

The few times I met your dad was at The Raw Bar in Hyannis enjoying his Steamed Lobster Dinner With scrumptious corn
What a very nice man your dad was Gail:
One of my favorite memories of “dad” was when he was at our house for his vacation to MA. We where having a fire he had his gin and tonic telling us his stories he went to flick his ciggarett into the fire and missed. Gail had said “Dad you just missed the fire” his comment was “ahhh close enough” and kept going on with his story we laughed so hard. He was a very funny guy and I enjoyed having him and Bully at our house. Gail and I hosted his 1st clam boil which he didn’t care too much for and went for the lobsters instead because the clams where too much work. He was an interesting man to listen to with much knowledge. Oh and how about him going to the post office to weigh his tomato? That story that Gail told me I was in stitches for days! When I got to speak with him or when I heard about him from Gail he kept me smiling. His memories will be forever with us all. xoxo
Tom was my surrogate dad. He filled and closed all the gaps which had remained painfully open since childhood. To me, he was a model dad, as he set all the right examples, and did all the things with me that I never got to do with my ‘city dad’ in Boston – from fishing to hunting and gun practice, to road trips in the country, and just sitting around with a gin and tonic, while smoking a bird, or cooking up some fish or quale that he just caught! Dad Hicks was real in every dimension – as well as transparent an honest. He was a model to live by and I hope that I can continue to reflect all those traits in me throughout the rest of my life.
I know this is a difficult time for the family & I can’t take away the pain. Just want you to know I’m always here for you in my heart & prayers.
Tom was a wonderful man & I enjoyed listening to his stories.
Love, Deb
