Stella Blanche Conway

Stella Blanche Frost Conway, 91, died January 18, 2011, at Brighton Gardens of Dunwoody. She was predeceased by husband William Conway, son Dean Conway, and granddaughter Whitney Callahan. She is survived by daughter Colleen Callahan and great-granddaughter Isabella Callahan, of Hilton Head Island, SC; daughter Janice Conway of Atlanta; son Stephen Conway Lori and granddaughter Cecilia Conway of Chamblee; and grandson Darren Callahan of Atlanta.
Born October 10, 1919, in Rochester, VT, she was one of eight children of Cleveland Frost of Portsmouth, NH, and Susan Roseman of Austria. Mrs. Conway was most proud of her service as a lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps during World War II. She served in England during the Blitz and later in Germany, often treating concentration camp survivors. In 1947, she married Mr. Conway and lived in Vermont and New Jersey, retiring to Atlanta in 1977, where she was a volunteer member of the St. Josephs Hospital Auxiliary for many years.
In remembrance, scholarship donations are requested to USCB School of Nursing, c/o Colleen C. Callahan, Director of Development, USCB, One University Blvd, Bluffton, SC 29909. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Rutland, VT, with a private memorial service at a later date
