Ruth Bullard Gary

Ruth Bullard Gary, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother, age 86 of Atlanta, GA, passed away on Oct. 22, 2013, peacefully in her sleep. The memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at 11:00am at her beloved church, St. James United Methodist Church on Peachtree Dunwoody Rd. with Dr. John Simmons and Emily Bagwell officiating. A reception will follow after the service at the church. Ruth grew up one of six children on a farm in Winfield, GA. They remained close throughout her life. She attended Georgia State College for Women before moving to Atlanta where she met her husband, Joe, of 65 years. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Oscar and Annie Bullard, sister Jean Crawford, and brother Winston Bullard. She is survived by her husband Joe Gary Sr., her three children Joe Shirley Gary Jr., Cindy Gary, and David Wendi Gary along with grandchildren Kristen Dametri Mitchell, Nicholas Gary, and Michael Canady, great grandchild Channing Grace Mitchell, and sister Marjorie Hood and brothers Ralph and John Bullard. According to her children she became a southern culinary master. She loved her Sunday School class United Fidelity, her circle of United Methodist Women, her bridge group, and her large family.
