Ron came to the Dove, Allen, Brooks reunion that we had at Lake Hartwell in 2009 and he and Douglas came to my house for a Christmas get together somewhere around 2010-2012. I always enjoyed talking to this first cousin and he will be missed.

I will never forget Uncle Ronnie Joe crawling around our house in Virginia Beach to chase Cristine and I He always seemed so “cool” to me!
May Maria and all of the family find peace in their many fond memories.

  5. Lynne Caldwell Springfield says:

Ronnie spent a lot of time at our home when I was a child. He seemed more like a brother to me than an uncle, especially since we were so close in age. As a young boy he played Army and drank a LOT of milk. He loved the Peanuts comic strip and The Beatles. He told great ghost stories. He played chess and loved a good debate. He will be missed, remembered and loved always.

  6. Carolyn Allen Caldwell says:

It is hard to think of Ronnie not with us in the physical body. I will miss him so much as he was a much loved brother. We always enjoyed having him with us so much. He spent much time at our house when he was in school at Thornwell in Clinton SC.He always entered the room knowing everyone there was delighted to have him and he made our day. Since he was close to our childrens’ age he was a good playmate. He was always reading and discussing the Bible with me and I learned so much from him. He had lots of friends at Thornwell and always spoke so highly of them that I always felt I knew them. He always made friends with our neighbors too. Larry says he always felt as if he was another of our children. We loved him so much. We love you also Maria and pray for God to comfort you in this sad time and give you peace to know you will see him again at His appointed time.

  7. Melanie says:

Sad that my Uncle Ronnie Joe has passed. I have some good memories of talking with him at the family gatherings. He was well read and had a great sense of humor. He and his wife helped me out when I was having a rough patch and I enjoyed spending a bit of time with them then. Thoughts are with my family who miss and love him dearly.

  8. Frances Allen Brown says:

I am so glad that I went to see Ronnie this summer. Since we live so far away in Las Vegas I have not had the chance to spend much time with Ronnie. He has always been in my heart. I was at the Cobb Memorial Hospital in Royston the night he was born. I was 16. I have always thought of Ronnie as a little miracle baby. He had a great personality and brought a lot of joy to his family. When he was a teenager he went camping with us and our Uncle Elmer and Aunt Edna at Monroe Bay in Virginia. There was a small tree near Aunt Edna’s trailer that she was so proud of. Ronnie decided to climb it and the little tree was no match for him and he fell down stripping the tree. Aunt Edna was not amused, but the rest of us were. She said it was no longer a tree just a pole. Rest In Peace, my dear brother.

  9. Jeff McGinty says:

We lost a great man and a great friend last Wednesday. I was with Ron in one of his favorite places when he passed suddenly and unexpectedly. Ron was always great for conversation. He was very smart and well read. We enjoyed his company and we will miss him greatly. Sat next to him for several years many times each week. A great hearted, generous man. Rest in peace Ron. Carpe Diem !
