  1. Jason says:

    Love you, Miss you

  2. Angie Arwood Gaston says:

In school, Rodney was was that friend you always wanted along. We were a group and he was the one guy we trusted w/everything. We laughed, we cried, we celebrated. Band trips, teepee parties, school dances. I’m glad he travelled the world and experienced life on his terms. My heart hurts for the loss of those he loved and loved him. My life was touched by Rodney years ago and I will always be grateful for his friendship.

  3. Holly Taylor Jones says:

I’m so sorry for your loss. Rodney was a sweet, sweet soul. I’ll miss him, and my heart hurts.
He could be so stubborn and cynical, but then so tender and kindhearted. He could make anyone laugh, befriend the least lovely, and bring a group together so effortlessly. Everyone trusted him; he was a vault. I’ll always remember our hours-long phone calls, swimming in the creek, parties, and how he loved his grandparents, family, and desire to make them happy. He loves you all so much.
I’m praying for the repose of his soul and peace for each of you. May all who crossed his path know how blessed they were to know him. Much, much love.

  4. Dallas Heasley says:

1,000 characters are not enough to write all the memories I have of Rodney, and right now my words fail me. My family and I are praying for you.

  8. Suzak says:

Rodney, you will be dearly missed, we lived through your travels and you were always quick to answer questions. We shared recipes and my family loved your stories and your help with homework. I hope you have finally found what you were looking for.

Rodney u were always so sweet and nice! U will be miss!

  10. Gilbert Ovalle says:

THANK YOU Rodney. Our lives crossed paths on July 14, 2013 at Gilbert’s. We instantly became friends. You introduced me to Church that evening where we danced like fools all night long. You would always, always greet me with a kiss. You offered the best travel advise and you were a joy to converse about any random subject. The last time I enjoyed a meal with you was when you had a cook out at home for a few friends. The last thing you borrowed from me was a cooler and the last thing I borrowed from you were your fancy disco pants which you wore on the first night we went out. We never made time to meet so I could return them. Perhaps we thought we would always have time for that. Well time ran out and I still have your pants. You will be missed.

You touched many lives all around the world.
You were a true global citizen and now you belong to the stars.
    Thank you Rodney.

  13. Lynetta says:

Reality has finally hit me. You, Rodney, dear friend, are no longer here touching hearts with your friendship, brightening lives with your laughter and inspiring others with your sense of adventure. Your travels have taken us all with you, on adventures to places far and wide, to lands we’ve never known. We’ll never understand why you chose to go this final journey alone. Just know you are loved dearly and will be missed greatly. Thanks for the dance and all the laughs we shared. I love you, dear friend.
May your family and friends be blessed with God’s peace during this time of great loss.

  14. Melissa Harral says:

To Rodney’s family I am so sorry for your loss. I can still remember meeting Rodney for the first time in elementary school and the light that he brought with him every day. I’m so sorry that he is no longer with us. He was very much loved and admired for just being himself. A light has been diminished that will never burn again. We are all so sad. Sending much love and prayers you way.

  21. Thayla Painter Bohn says:

I have read the sentiments of so many, and they seem to have touched on it all. Rodney was so special, so funny, and everyone’s friend. He could brighten your mood with his mere presence. His smile and good humor were completely infectious. I loved the stories of his travel. The last time I saw him in Atlanta, he said he was “spending his retirement now” traveling the world while he was young. Never did I imagine he would not be here when we were old. It seemed we had many years to swap travel stories and relive old times. He will be so sorely missed. Our hearts ache. I join my classmates in praying for his family and wishing my dear friend peace.

Rodney, you were an AMAZING man and I am so happy I could call you a friend. You always had better travel stories than I did and that’s a lot to say! You will be very very missed. Your family is in my thoughts and you are too. I miss you.

  30. Gary Richard potocki says:

Rodney was my cousin on my paternal estranged side I didn’t know him I saw him a few times back in the early mid late nineties, late eighties we were triangulated from each other I remember him being kind could make jokes we never bonded “but his death affects me”. We share the same birthdate just different year not that it matters, I don’t know what to say because I’m still shocked in none of my estranged family told me how he died I loved him he was my family even though I did know him ….I wish I had…….
