Our brother, Rodger Dennis Rose of Atlanta, passed away on February 2, 2023 while in Hospice Care at the age of 68.

He is preceded in death by his parents William Raymond Rose and Fay Dennis Rose. He leaves behind a sister, Dana Rose Archer (Keith); brother David Allen Rose (Tonia); a nephew Drew Taylor Archer (Taylor) a niece Hannah Rose Archer and two grandnieces Karsyn Rose Archer and Hadley Alice Archer. He also leaves behind his 3 ‘babies’ dogs Dillon, Emy and Higgins.

Dennis graduated from Myers Park High School in Charlotte, NC. He went on to graduate from the University of South Carolina with a finance degree where he played the trumpet in the marching band.
Dennis moved to the Buckhead area of Atlanta in 1984 and resided there until his death.  He was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling and caring for generations of dogs, primarily Bearded Collies. He was employed by Equifax after graduating from college and in later years as a Director of IT by DHL Worldwide.

He will be truly missed by his family and his friends all over the world.

Dana/Keith and David/Tonia, you have my deepest sympathy for your loss. You’ve not only lost a brother, but a friend. We all have lost a friend. Because Dennis never met a stranger, all of Gamecock Nation mourns with you. I bet he’s having a beer with Joe Morrison and setting him straight on the Navy game in ’84. I wish you all peace and comfort at this difficult time.

    • Dana Archer says:

Thank you, Greg, for making me smile during this very tough time. You are so right about Dennis never meeting a stranger. He was the best big brother. Thank you for being such a good friend to him.

  3. Jane Smith says:

I am so sorry for your loss. 😢 Dennis was such a great person. He always made me laugh. He was one of my consultants at The Coca-Cola Company and then later became one of my hiring managers at DHL. He will be missed.

  4. William Conroy says:

    Dennis,

We had a great run together. Our early mornings on the first tee at Chastain will forever be part of my soul. You were our fearless leader and will be forever missed. Our adventures outside of Chastain were also deep and meaningful. Anyone who knew you well was a blessed individual. Rest in peace my friend and brother.

  5. Mark Powers says:

Had fun during those high school years with Dennis

  8. Martin Borriss says:

Dennis made friends and made his mark across the Atlantic ocean as well. He was a good friend. When you truly required a go-to person to help you when travelling to Atlanta, Dennis was your man. Our family will miss Dennis, we mourn with you.

  9. Silvia Neumann says:

Dennis was such a wonderful person. In our stay in Atlanta he was a great friend. He was the 1st person to visit our 1st born in a city we didn’t have any family to share our joy – he was there for us. That says a lot about this great man. My family misses you, Dennis. We feel privileged to have met you.

  10. Sebastian Neumann says:

Dennis welcomed me and my family to Atlanta, teached me how to play golf and did so much more…
What a great and generous person, but above all what a great friend.
    Will miss you greatly!

  11. Katharina Dix says:

I am so sorry for your loss. Dennis was such a caring friend. He took so good care of me (and us all) when I first came to Atlanta. He had such a great heart and I appreciated his honesty so much. I loved hanging out with him and the pups. His door was always open for us all. I will miss him very much and he will always be in my heart! I am so thankful for all the moments I could spend with you.

  12. Harriet Barfield says:

Dennis and l were neighbors for three
plus decades. We entertained each other
with diverse topics within our little sanctuary
of Chastain park and there was always a project.
He was always quick with a smile and a dog biscuit for my dog Andrew who adored him.
Rest In peace buddy. I’ll miss you.
