May happy memories of your grandfather be comforting to you and your family. Thank you for introducing me to your grandfather; I will remember talking with him about Atlanta history. He was an interesting man. Please extend my condolences to your family.

We send our deepest sympathies to the entire family. Johnny was quite a character and his shanagians made me chuckle! I know recently his health declined, preventing him from doing things which brought him joy. I pray the family will receive a measure of comfort knowing there are many prayers being offered to God on your behalf.
We are so sorry for the loss of Uncle Johnny. We have very happy memories of gatherings with him. We will miss him. With sympathy, Jen, Ashley, and Sarah.
Weekly family I am very sorry to hear of John’s passing. He led a wonderful life and was blessed with a great family. When I heard this news I was taken back to all the scout adventures he led us on. Many of my best memories from my teen years are associated with those adventures. From paddling the Chattahoochee to hiking the Appalachian trail. I am very thankful for his dedication to others. My prayer for you all is peace and an awareness of God’s faithfulness though times like this.
My deepest sympathy to his family. I was blessed to have benefited from his involvement with Boy Scouts. May God bless Johnny and his family.
Our deepest sympathy to the Georgia Weekleys from the North Carolina Weekleys. I know y’all were extremely close to him. He really was an extraordinary man. Our heart goes out to all of you.
Amanda, Chris, Sammy, and Sophie Weekley
Dear Florence and David,
I was so sorry to learn just today that your husband and grandfather passed away. I was at home from June 14 until yesterday (June 27) recuperating from surgery. I had no idea he had passed away. If I had known, I would have certainly sent my regrets much sooner. I feel a real connection with him since you all lived next to my Aunt Evelyn for so long. I really enjoyed the visit you all made a while back. He did know a lot of Atlanta history. Old times, old memories. David and I talk about you, Florence, and his grandfather all the time. He was a good man who led a good life. Florence, I know how hard this must be for you. I hope that the memories of your husband (and, for you David, the memories of your grandfather) will bring you some comfort.
Again, my deepest sympathy and regret for not contacting you sooner,
Julie Carnes
