Richard Hill Latham
Richard Hill Latham, 84, of Dunwoody, GA passed away at home on April 11, 2022.
Hill is survived by his wife Bonnie of 63 years, their daughters Alesa Gail (Tim), grandson David, and Cindy, grandchildren Hannah and Jason Hill.
In his 20s, Hill was an active Mason and a Shriner. The family moved to Atlanta in 1969 after Hill was recruited for a second time by Frito Lay to drive a big rig. He later moved into management and eventually took early retirement at 52. After a few DIY opportunities, Hill became a home inspector until he retired at 72. Hill always enjoyed working with his hands, tinkering with small engines, creating outdoor holiday decorations, carrying out home improvement projects, building swings, decks, and forts for Bonnie, children and grandchildren, or working in his or Cindy’s yard. Hill was a dedicated husband and family man, always putting them first. He had a kind soul, living by the motto of “going along to get along.”
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Chamblee First United Methodist Church at 2:00pm, preceded by visitation at 1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chamblee First United Methodist Church, 4147 Chamblee-Dunwoody Road, Chamblee, GA 30341.
So sorry to hear about Hill. he was nice man who I enjoyed working at Frito Lay at ARW / Chamblee, He always could put a smile on your face even during tough times.
I am so sorry to hear of Hill’s passing. I worked with him for several years at Frito-Lay. Hill touched my heart the first time I met him. He had such a kind soul and giving heart. My deepest sympathies to his beautiful wife, Bonnie, and his girls. You were the loves of his life.
I worked with Hill at Frito-Lay for much of my 20 years there. He was a good man and great to work with. The truck drivers thought very highly of him.
Quite literally the best man I’ve ever known. He was like a father to me when I needed it the most. Like a piece of my heart is now missing. Prayers are with you all.
We are so sorry for your family’s loss! 🙏
Hill was absolutely one of the kindest and most genuine person I’ve ever worked with and known. We worked together from 1985 until he retired, with Hill teaching me so much about the Logistics business. His genuine care for each person showed in his smile and calming demeanor.
Bet he’s now laughing with Ludlow Porch and Lewis Gizzard.
! Rest in Peace my Friend.
Praying for Bonnie and the Family!
I worked with Hill when he was head of traffic at the Chamblee plant. Out of the hundreds of people I had the opportunity to work with at Frito Lay, Hill was one of my favorite. He was truely a joy to work with.
I first met Hill in 1978 when we met in Valdosta to discuss interchange points between Orlando and Chamblee. He was then and always a pleasure to work with. A true gentleman. I know that he saved Frito-Lay a lot of money with the backhaul programs that he implemented. Bonnie, I will miss those BBQ lunches with you guys. My sympathy to you and the girls. RIP Hill.
I have very fond memories of visits with my great uncle Hill. Such a kind and funny guy.
My condolences to my great aunt Bonnie and to Alesa and Cindy and their families.
Hill will be missed. My heart goes out to you all.

Prayers to Bonnie and the family. I worked with Hill at the Chamblee Plant, what a kind and genuine man he was to everyone he met.
So glad that Hill became a part of our extended family. Such a kind and wise man; a wonderful father=in-law to my son; and an awesome Poppa for my grandchildren, Hannah and Jason. “Thank You, Hill Latham.”
