WOODS, Ralston Brockinton, 89, originally of Savannah, GA, passed away in his Atlanta home on Sunday morning, August 29th, 2010. In 1947, after honorable service in the Navy during WWII, Ralston graduated from Georgia Tech and married June Benton Woods. In 1952, he was called from inactive duty to once again serve his country admirably in the Korean War. After joining the Lockheed Corporation, he attended night classes at the Atlanta Law School and earned his law degree in 1956. He was a star football player in high school and an avid golfer throughout his life. Always thoughtful, charitable, and kind, he was a role model for husbands, fathers, and grandfathers alike. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, June Woods, daughter, Carol Carper, and son, Brock Woods, granddaughter, Julia Combs, MD, grandson-in-law, Jim Combs, MD, great grandson, James Combs, grandson, Benton Carper, granddaughter-in-law, Jenny Meyer-Carper, MD, and his loyal dog, Mr. Tibbs. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church, 3016 Lanier Dr, Atlanta, GA 30319. A private service will be held at the church on Saturday morning, September 4th, 2010.
