Pauline Dale Palmer

Pauline D. Palmer passed away on February 1, 2018 at the age of 98. She was born 11/27/1919 in Tallulah Falls, Ga. to Walter Edward Dale and Sylvia Smith Dale. She graduated from Florida State College for Women in 1942 with a degree in Social Work and Journalism. She received the Flambeau Journalism Key or outstanding reporting for a college newspaper from 1938-40. The majority of her professional work during the 1960’s and ‘70’s was with the State of Georgia in various agencies of the Georgia Post Secondary Education Commission, the State Office of Planning and Budget, the Georgia Educational Improvement Council and the Georgia Department of Industry and Trade. She was interested in photography, art history and politics and was a member of the Threefold Truth Foundation, the President’s Council of Atlanta, the National Federation of business and Professional Women’s Clubs, and Past President of the Atlanta club (1970).
She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Sylvia Dale, her beloved husband John D. Palmer and her sister Evelyn Buck of Philadelphia. She is survived by her Sister Ethel Butler of Richmond, Va. , her brother Walter E. Dale of Long Beach, CA. ; a niece, Deanna (Willy)Lacy of Cumberland, VA., Great Nieces and Nephews, Kelly Foster, Tracy Mull, Eric Mull and Ryder Mull; Great, Great Nieces and Nephews, DJ Foster, Connor and Lindsay Mull, Briana Mull, and Jaden Shands; Cousins Andy (Nell) Anderson of Lawrenceville and Ray Dale of Alpharetta. She was especially fond of special friends Andrea K. Smith and Wayne Manning of Atlanta. The family wishes to thank her cousin Nell Anderson for the visits, love and affection she bestowed on Pauline during her declining years. She was a blessing to Pauline and the family. Also thanks to the fine caregivers and staff at Delmar Gardens of Gwinett where she resided prior to her passing.
Cremation was handled by the Cremation Society of Ga. and interment and a graveside service will be at the North Atlanta Memorial Park in Doraville on Tuesday, Feb 6th at 1 p.m.
