Patsy Echols, 76, of Winston/Douglasville formerly of Temple Ga. passed to the arms of the Lord after a brief illness on August 10, 2013.
Pat was born July 27, 1937 in Armuchee Ga. to the late Joseph Marion Keasler and survived by Frances Keasler. She was raised in Armuchee with her 3 brothers A.J., Wayne, and Tim. She attended Armuchee High School and was an All State basketball guard. After graduation 1955, she attended Shorter College for 2 years.
Pat married Robert V. Echols from Rome on May 27, 1956 at the Pleasant Valley North Baptist Church. They moved several times for Bob’s occupation including Michigan, Texas, Maryland, Tucker and lastly to a large farm in Temple Ga. where they resided 35 years. Pat worked as an administration assistant and took time off to raise her children. They relocated to Douglasville in 2005 when she retired to be closer to her grandchildren.
Pat enjoyed working in her yard and flowers, antiquing, silver sneakers, traveling and being with her family. She was caring, always helping others and a loving person to all that known her.
Pat is survived by her husband Robert Echols of 57 years, their 3 children and 5 grandchildren; Randy Echols of Smyrna, his wife Cheryl and their sons Ryan and Randal; Sandy Harvel of Kansas City and her son Bryce; Christina Craton of Douglasville, her husband Charles and their children Chase and Claire.
She is also survived by her mother Frances Keasler; brothers and sister-in-laws A.J. and Sally Keasler of Somona CA.; Wayne and Elaine Keasler of Rome; Tim and Georgeann Keasler of Rome.
Memorial Services to celebrate the life of Pat will be conducted August 22 6:30 at The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd 3099 Chapel Hill Rd. Douglasville Ga. 30135
Donations can be made to the Pat Echols Memorial Fund through the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd Douglasville so she can continue to help others.
