Nicholas DePasquale

Nicholas “Nick” DePasquale, known for his generous spirit and quick wit, died Saturday May 8, 2010, after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie. He is survived by his daughter, Judyann Bullard husband Gil, granddaughter, Robin Bullard, and several nieces and nephews, including “surrogate son” Peter Fenton. Nick was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 20, 1919, moving to Long Island as a young man. While in New York he worked with with Fairchild, Grumman, and Liberty Aircraft. He also volunteered with the local fire department and in the Coast Guard, and was active in the Knights of Columbus, a Catholic family fraternal service organization. After moving to Atlanta, Nick worked at Lockheed Aircraft and also became established in the restaurant industry. He worked as a restaurant manager with Dale’s Cellar, Rich’s, Greyhound Bus Service, and the Westin Peachtree Plaza from which he retired in 1981. In his youth, Nick developed what became a life-long love of surf casting. After his retirement, he moved to Dunedin, FL, where he became a local legend as a snook fisherman. He conducted fishing seminars for The Sports Authority and was highlighted in the St. Petersburg Times as “the master snook angler of Hurricane Pass.” Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at the Catholic Church of St. Ann in Marietta, GA on Saturday May 22, 2010, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception at the church.
