Next, she began working with the National League of Nursing, as the Director of the Southern Office, leading seminars throughout the United States. After retiring from the League, she continued in her role in Volunteer Coordination Management in positions with the Atlanta Junior League and Zoo Atlanta.

Nancy deeply loved her family and visited whenever possible. She was eager to hear news about her nieces and nephews and always offered love, encouragement and support. Her family loved to hear about her adventures and she was a wonderful storyteller.
As a prolific letter writer, Nancy maintained relationships with friends all over the world for decades. Her neighbors in Garden Hills, which she and Martha Banks called home for more than 30 years, were always welcome in her home or in her beautiful garden. They invited the neighbors of all ages to their annual Christmas party and set an example for community spirit. Everyone Nancy met became a friend.
Nancy was a champion for the city of Atlanta. She was an avid sports fan and cheered for all of the Atlanta teams and often attended games. She loved the symphony and held season tickets for many years. She supported visiting exhibits and volunteered at many.
In 2013, Nancy moved to Canterbury Court. She sustained her love of gardening, cultivating a plot and sharing her harvest with her neighbors. Serving on the Gardening Committee and as Manager of the Greenhouse, her role as a tireless volunteer continued.
Nancy had an adventurer’s sprit, a generous soul, boundless energy, southern charm and most importantly a loving heart. Her family and friends will miss her warm smile, her heartfelt greetings, friendly conversation and the daily example she set on how to get the most out of life while giving back at the same time.
