Mitzi Weiss
Mitzi Weiss, born in Brooklyn, NY, January 10th, 1913 died July 5th, 2010 in Atlanta. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law; Mal and Sandie Weiss of, Henderson, NV., Joel and Peggy Weiss of Atlanta, GA., grandchildren; Larry and Steven Weiss of Henderson, NV., Ben and Angie Weiss of Atlanta, GA., and great grandchildren Krystal Jo and Aiden Samuel Weiss of Henderson, NV., and Madelyn Weiss of Atlanta, GA., Mitzi is also survived by several nieces and nephews including; Mavis Levy of Rhinebeck, NY and Annette Bluestein of Lake Worth, FL., who lived with Mitzi and her family for several years after the death of their mother and who loved her dearly. Mitzi was Valedictorian and class beauty of her graduating class of 1930 in Brooklyn. She was a long time resident of Pembroke Pines, FL before moving to Atlanta in 2009. She loved dancing, her card games and being with her many friends. She also loved her volunteer work at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York and Florida and in recent years had been involved in volunteering and fund raising for several charitable causes. The family expresses appreciation to the Yakubov family and all the staff at Safe Haven at Leonx Park for their kindness and wonderful care of Mitzi during the past year, and to all the people at Compassionate Hospice. At Mitzi’s request, there will be no funeral. A celebration of her life will be held at a future date.
