Michael E Moomaw
Michael E Moomaw passed away on December 9, 2023 at the age of 72. He was born in Shelby, OH on September 16, 1951. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kathryn Ann (Berry), son Patrick Neal and wife Kristine, son Barry Keith and wife Kathryn, and granddaughters Marissa Kathryn, Ashby Margaret, Berkeley Jane, and Makenna Kristine. He is also survived by his sisters Julianne (Greg) Geer and Karen Louise Berg of Shelby, OH, and Rebecca Jean (Rodney) Groshens of Rochester, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles E. and Bonnie J. (Fagan) Moomaw.
Mike graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and he received a Master of Science degree and Doctorate in Industrial and Organizational Psychology at the Georgia Institute of Technology. During his professional career, Dr. Moomaw worked with Life Office Management Association, Southern Company, and APTMetrics. Mike was also a member of the American Psychological Association, Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and the Georgia Association for Industrial-Organizational Psychology.
After retiring, Mike volunteered his time with Buck Bald Brewing in Copper Hill, TN where he served as an assistant brewer, and at Canine Assistants Inc, who raises and prepares community service dogs for pediatric hospitals and persons with physical disabilities or other special needs.
There will be a private, family celebration of Mike’s life at a future date.
