Maurice Glenford Cole

Maurice Glenford Cole, age 76, died peacefully at his home in Conley, Georgia on December 26, 2019 following a brief illness. He was born in Brick Kiln Village, St. James’ Parish, Nevis, to Norman and Frederica Cole, who preceded him in death.
Maurice was always a good student, and he went on to study at the Regional Police Training Center in Barbados, West Indies, where he excelled in all of his subjects. He was later assigned as a Police Constable to The Royal St. Christopher-Nevis-Anguilla Police Force at its headquarters in Basseterre, St. Kitts. Upon leaving the police force in 1969, Maurice immigrated to New York City, where he raised his family, gained a degree in management and soon entered the field of commodities trading with Continental Grain Company, where he spent the next 28 years, first as a supervisor in the positions department and moving on to Assistant Manager in Contracts and Gross Profit Analysis. When Continental merged with their rival company, Cargill, in 1999, he took a short break then joined Calamos Investments of Naperville, Illinois before retiring in 2006. He moved and settled in Conley, Georgia, where he is known by his neighbors to have one of the best looking yards in the entire subdivision. At the time of his death, he and his wife were dedicated members of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Atlanta, Georgia.

Dear LINLEY
Maurice and I worked together for years and he was a very good friend. When he lived in Long Island He and I used to walk to Penn Station together and have long talks I remember when his daughters were little girls. He was a great guy. I know people always say flowery words when someone passes away but in your husband’s case those flower words are from my heart he is and will be sorely missed.
Maurice you were a good neighbor. I will miss seeing you working in your yard all the time. Rest In Peace my friend.
We remember Maurice from when he resided in Central Islip. He was a new home owner and a very proud one. He was always a quiet and a peace-loving person. His residence was near our favorite place in Long Island, Entenman’s Bakery. Sweets for a sweet guy. May God remember him.
Dear Lindley, This is the only way that I can describe my feelings regarding the passing of my dear friend 💔💔Maurice. He was a kind, friendly and warm person. We
had many good talks and laughs together . He will be sorely missed.
Condolences to you and the rest of our family.

To the family,
Maurice was an employee of Continental Grain as well as I. We were in different divisions but when our paths crossed, he was always a gentleman with a beautiful smile. Rest in Peace.
. “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”
Psalms 30:5
To all of Maurice’s family and friends I want to extend my deepest sympathies on his passing. Maurice was the kindest person I ever knew. I worked with “Mo” for 20 years at Continental Grain and I, frankly, would not have lasted a week without him. Maurice was my supervisor when I first joined the company and I was pretty lost those first few days. Maurice was patient and funny and so supportive when I finally understood the strange language of grains he was speaking. And he was great with all of the staff. He could be stern, if you really deserved it, but always in a kind way. I do not think I will ever meet a person again in my life with the kindness, patience, intelligence and wonderful sense of humor that Maurice had. I loved him very much. I missed him terribly when he was transferred to Chicago, but rejoiced that he met Lindley. I believe she completed him.
May he rest in God’s hands. He deserves that place.
Most sincerely,
Susan Mathews
Our condolences to the entire family. May Maurice rest in perpetual heavenly peace.
