Born in: Holyoke, CO
Resided in: Atlanta, GA

Marjorie Annette Robbins (Ann) died peacefully surrounded by family on August 4, 2017, at the age of 97. Born in Holyoke, Colorado, to her beloved parents Henry and Helen (Saylor) Underwood, she was the oldest of three children, including brother Jud and sister Dorothy. As a young girl in a rural farming community, she rode her horse Peggy to school every day. She graduated from Colorado Women’s College in Denver and followed her cousin to California where she took a teaching position in Topanga Canyon and later with the war effort, worked at Douglass Aircraft. Ann met Neal Robbins at a Big Band Dance in San Diego, but he was soon deployed with the Marine Corps to the Pacific war campaign. When he returned, they married and settled in Indiana where they started their family. In 1960, Neal’s career in radio/tv advertising brought them to Atlanta. Ann was an active member of several Garden Clubs, the Atlanta Decorating Society, several neighborhood civic organizations in Sandy Springs, and eventually started her own interior decorating business focused on providing services for elderly residents of retirement communities. Ann was a loving, supportive Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, taking a passionate interest in her family members’ lives. Ann’s creativity was manifest in many mediums, including painting, copper relief, sewing, writing and interior design. She was committed to her faith and service as an active member of Sandy Springs Christian Church and Peachtree Christian Church. In later years, Ann’s adventurous spirit led her to travel the world. She especially enjoyed spending time in France with her cousins and her trip to the Holy Land. We are grateful Ann was able to participate in Grandson Ian’s wedding celebration in Stockholm, Sweden in 2014. Ann was known for her beauty, elegance and style, always put together and never without one of her signature scarves. She inspired everyone who knew her, with a vibrancy and zest for life.
Ann is predeceased by her beloved husband and son, Neal and Kirk Robbins. She is survived by her son, Alan (Jenai); Grandchildren Rion (Bill), Shana (Alberto), Ian (Ellen), John, Lisa (Jeremiah), Shane; Great grandchildren Cody, Madeleine, Miles Davis, Hendrix, Elsa, and Noah; her many friends at St. Anne’s Terrace and Brighton Gardens. She will be greatly missed.
