  1. Ben Coats says:

I shall always remember her sunshine bright smile and delightful jovial demeanor as we clanked our beakers together in the labs of UNCW and Corning. Rest in peace, Karen; I shall forever miss you and your charming personality.

  2. Courtney Little says:

I recently found out about Karen’s passing. I will always remember the times we shared playing violin together in high school. I wish we had kept up better after graduation. One of my favorite years in the Orchestra, we shared a music stand together. It was then, we became close. I remember going to her house and meeting her mother. Her mother was so kind and made us crepes as we practiced. I regret not keeping up better with her since school. She is a huge part of my highschool memories, and will always be in my heart as a dear friend never to be forgotten. I send my condolences to all her family and friends.

  3. LeeAnn Connell says:

I am saddened by the news of Karen’s passing. I had only known her for a short period of time. However, in that time, I knew she was special. She will truly be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends in this time of need.

  4. Joshua King says:

I met Karen in January 1998. It was my first semester at ASU, It was her last semester at ASU. She graduated following the conclusion of that semester and moved back to her home in Wilmington, NC. We met riding the Appalcart. Needless to say we became good friends in those five months. Over the course of the next five years while I was attending ASU;. I visited her at the beach often mostly during the summer. She also surprised me and came back to Boone once. After I graduated in 2002, we lost touch. We found each other again in 2010. I talked to her once a week after that. I had an unfortunate incident in my life in Nov. 2013;and was unable to contact her until March 2015. Unfortunately she had passed away two days before. I still think about her often. It’s been over seven years since she passed away and I find myself typing her name into Google. That’s what brought me to this site. I miss u Karen and thank you for always being there when I needed to talk. I wish we still could
