Julie Lawrence Bellem, thirty-seven of Atlanta GA, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Monday, June 1, 2015 after a 27 month battle with breast cancer.

Julie was born at Northside Hospital on June 28, 1977. She graduated from Chattahoochee High School in 1995 and continued her education at UGA. She participated in the Academic Honors Program and graduated from the Terry College of Business with a degree in International Business, with the distinction of Summa Cum Laude in 1999. While at UGA, she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority and served as Vice-President, represented the Athletic Department as a “Georgia Girl” to recruit potential football players, and participated in various leadership organizations such as LeaderShape, Leadership UGA and the Leadership Resource Team.

Upon graduation she worked as a Consultant for Accenture where she traveled the northeast serving pharmaceutical clients. In 2005 she joined the Coca-Cola family in the Human Resource Department. Her most recent position was Senior Executive Services Manager where she managed global end-to-end strategy and cultivated relationships with executives, their financial planners, vendors, and key partners. She handled her job with grace and sensitivity and there was never an issue that she couldn’t handle. In 2014 Julie’s professional efforts were recognized as one of the top Women to Watch by the Terry College of Business.

That same year, she and sixteen friends became ‘Julie’s Angels’ and completed the sixty-mile Susan G. Komen 3-Day in Atlanta. Not only was she one of their top fundraisers, she made the keynote speech sharing her journey to an enormous crowd of family and friends. Her positive attitude was an inspiration to all.

Julie was also a true Bulldog fan and never missed a kick-off during football season. She loved the peaceful life at Lake Burton, enjoyed shopping for antiques and appreciated family trips.

She was also an active member of Peachtree Presbyterian Church where she developed a large network of friends. Her heart was warm, caring and loving. She was a dedicated wife and mother who adored her family and shared her love of God with them. She championed every aspect in her life.

Survivors include her loving husband, Matthew, of eleven years; their beautiful children, Addie Bliss and Harris, as well her precious dog, Dooley; her parents, Polley and Shep Lawrence of Roswell, GA; her brother, Sheppard Lawrence and his wife Jessica, and daughters Caitlin and Caroline of Sandy Springs, GA; and a large extended family, aunts, uncles, and cousins across the country.

A memorial service will be held at Peachtree Presbyterian Church in the Sanctuary 3434 Roswell Road, Atlanta, GA 30305 on Friday, June 12, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall. My sincerest condolences to the Bellem family. I hope that you will, as I have, find comfort and strength in these words by William Wordsworth, “The radiance which was once so bright be now forever taken from our sight. I am so saddened by the passing of Julie. I knew Julie over the past years through Cola-Cola. She was always helpful, positive and professional. She was excellent at what she did. I enjoyed our interactions as even during her illness she was focussed on being the best and helping others. I am sure that is how she was as a mother, wife and friend.
I know there are no words I can offer that help diminish the sorrow of losing Julie, but I wanted to share my personal thoughts on what a special person she was.
    With my most sincere condolences,
    John Guarino
    President Coca-Cola Refreshments Canada
