Joseph Edward Ebersole
Joseph (Joe) Edward Ebersole was born on November 3, 1960 in Bethesda, Maryland and on March 14, 2019 passed away in Atlanta, Georgia, which he called home for the last 40 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. John H. Ebersole and Marian Ebersole. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Paula Mason; his siblings Richard (Anita) Ebersole of Collierville, TN, Michael (Cathy) Ebersole of Elizabeth, CO, William Ebersole of Louisville, KY, Catherine Walker (Bob) of Lancaster, PA, and John Ebersole (Denise) of Saint Charles, IL. His numerous nieces and nephews will greatly miss having their favorite uncle, Joe, in their lives.
Joe attended Manheim Township High School in Lancaster, PA, before graduating from Emory University. Joe enjoyed a fulfilling career working at The Coca-Cola Company, Information Builders, Sybase, and for the past 20 years at TIBCO Software Inc. He treasured every day of work leading and loving the people on his team.
Joe’s passion for travel took him to exotic destinations with friends and family where stories were shared, and adventures were sought. Placing his toes in the sand and stepping into the water at a beautiful beach were among his favorites. He found joy in other people’s happiness and his support to everyone he knew was unmatched. Joe was known by all for his kind heart, humor, infectious laughter, and loyalty.
A celebration of Joe’s life will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, March 31 at Inman Park United Methodist Church, 1015 Edgewood Ave. NE, Atlanta, GA 30307 with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, his beloved family requests donations to Inman Park United Methodist Church.

I worked for Joe at TIBCO. He was one of my first Managers in the Sales Engineering world. Joe was one of the best managers I’ve had in my career, and his leadership and example have had profoundly positive effects on my career trajectory in the years since I’ve worked with him. It would be hard to find a more loyal, dedicated, caring manager than Joe. I’m very thankful that I got to know Joe, and I’m incredibly saddened to hear of his passing. Deepest condolences to all who knew and loved him.
The best boss and finest character of person it’s ever been my privilege to work for and know as a friend. Bar none.

I remember meeting Joe shortly after moving into Castleberry. He was sitting on the stoop at mueller while I was walking my dog.
It wasn’t the last stoop encounter. It was a great place to catchup and shoot the breeze. His home was open to all. From Thanksgiving celebrations to Super Bowl Sunday parties. Joe didn’t know a stranger. He valued his friends and family.
He will live in all of our hearts for all times. Until we see each other again my friend.

So many beautiful words about Joe from those who knew him well. I have vivid memories of his engaging kindness from meeting him and Paula at the Walkers in Lancaster. I know how much he meant to his sister Cathy and nephew Ryan, and can only imagine what Paula and his children are feeling. Our condolences to all his family, and I trust that over time the now painful thoughts of all that you are missing will become the comforting memories of all he has given you.

When I think of Joe, I think of a warm-hearted person with a joie de vivre. He welcomed us into his home and his heart, and he connected withy our son, Vijay, through his sense of mischief and playfulness. There is a quiet void without him here.

I also had the privilege of working regularly with Joe over a couple of decades and he was always one of the nicest (and modest) person whether it was in a meeting with difficult customer, enjoying each other’s company over dinner afterwards or even when picking you up from the airport way too early in the morning. You will be missed by many.

I will miss joe’s friendship and conversation
Joe, I do not know if you will ever see these, if I were you I would be visiting other planets, exploring the universe now, but I hope one day we will meet again in eternity, maybe talk about the past and have a good laugh.
I cannot say you made me a better person, but you showed me what a better man is, you made an impression on me, on Glaucia and on Barbara, and yes, one of her favorite phrase is your, that I will not post here, but I always remember you and have a laugh when she says it…
You were a special person, and the people closest to you also were, as you deserved, Paula, your sister, your entire family, we were lucky to have you and you deserved them.
When Joe was getting married, I as any other man, had no idea what to gift him, and your response was we do not need anything we have it all, if you will make a donation, and how fitting was that you choose an institution that was concerned about others, Tony’s foundation for children with Cancer.
Now Paula maintains the legacy asking for donations for your church.

I am just coming back from maternity leave and learned about Joe’s passing while I was out. I was so heartbroken that his light went out. Joe was one of kind, had an amazing sense of humor, and just had a way of putting everyone at ease, and making you feel welcomed. I will never forget him.
