John Rafe Baer

John Rafe Baer died in his home on August 29 from renal failure.  John was born March 4, 1942 and was adopted by Rafe and Margaret Baer at age 2 ½ in Minneapolis, MN.

John worked his way through night school to graduate from Georgia State University.  He also received education credits from Emory University where he was brother in the Chi Phi Fraternity.  He had a 40 year career in the insurance industry.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Ellen Scott Baer; his three children, Lesley Chambless, Preston Baer and Susan Ahern; and his three grand children, Nicholas Ahern, Grace Chambless and Benjamin Chambless.
