John Lorne MacDougall
John L. MacDougall, 71, was a cherished husband, adored father, beloved grandfather, treasured friend, and gentle soul whose light will continue to shine on us. He was a doting father who was endlessly proud of his beloved children. In recent years, his heart was filled with joy by his grandsons. John enjoyed spending his summers boating with his family in the Thousand Islands and Lake Lanier, and vacationing on the Lowcountry beaches of Amelia Island. John was an avid golfer whose once-in-a-lifetime hole-in-one shot was a pinnacle moment in his golfing career.
John was peacefully welcomed into God’s embrace on June 16th, 2021. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and sister.

Daiva, Alison, Alex, and Ann,
I am so sorry for the loss of John! I have very good memories of John and your whole family while growing up in Duluth! I will never forget John picking Alison and I up from a DMS after school dance. He was playing J Geils Band “Love Stinks!” We jammed to it all the way home, and to this day, whenever I hear that song, I think of John! That is only one treasured memory I carry with me. You all are in my thoughts and prayers and I send my sincere condolences.
I performed songs this weekend from my “purple book” as a John musical tribute. He rocked!
Also, made contribution to JDRF in his name:)
