One of their favorite songs was “Bad Bad Leroy Brown” by Jim Croce and it was often played at gatherings in their honor. Jessie loved to entertain and was always the life of the party. She was also an accomplished cook. Jessie was most famous for her chocolate cake, and it was a high honor if you were lucky enough to receive one.
She is survived by her husband of 77 years, Jim, her daughter Vicki Chandler Stallings Ron, of Atlanta, Georgia, granddaughters Courtnay Stallings Leach Andrew, Athens, Georgia, and Claire Stallings Bowles Dillon, Charlotte, North Carolina, grandson Ryan Crosby Stallings Carrie, Dunwoody, Georgia, and nine great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents and her five elder siblings, Ralph Crosby, Howard Crosby, Lucille Tolleson, Sarah Kahn and Audrey Kuhlenschmidt.

Jim, Vicki and family I was saddened to see this in the Evansville paper last week. I had actually been thinking of Jessie and Jim recently and wondering how you were? I’m the girl who was Howard’s friend from Owensboro and kept in touch with you all for a few years. What a reunion Jessie and Howard are having in Heaven now. Praying for you in your loss. Karen Wetzel Hinman P.S. I am making a donation to the Evansville Rescue Mission which is next door to where I work now Deaconess VNA Hospice in Jessie’s memory.
