Jean Merkl Alexander
Jean Merkl Alexander passed from this life at home with family on January 22, 2017. We celebrate the life of a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. It was truly a blessing to share life with her. Jean was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she married Raymond Bennet Alexander in 1958. They shared life together in Philadelphia, then Lehigh Acres, Florida, and finally in Hiawassee, Georgia, where Raymond passed on. Jean then moved to Cumming, Georgia, where she lived her final years.
She is preceeded in death by her parents, Jean Ackerman Merkl and Jacob Merkl, her brothers, Joseph Merkl and Jacob Merkl, her son, Kenneth Alexander, her great-grandaughter, Layla Barnes, her parents-in-law, Thelma Zane and Paul Zane, and her brother-in-law, James Erbrick.
Jean is survived by her sons, Edward Alexander, Richard Alexander and William Alexander, her grandchildren, David Boring, Kristen Alexander, Candice Alexander, Brian Scannell, Sean Alexander, Alexis Alexander, Mitchell Alexander, Gracie Alexander and Megan Alexander, and her great-grandchildren, Sean Barnes, Logan Barnes, Elana Barnes, Emelia Duval and Everett Duval, her brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Madeline Merkl, her sister- and brother-in-law, Linda Mueller and Peter Mueller, and her sister-in-law, June Erbrick.
We all miss her but are comforted in the knowledge she is with our Lord and Savior and we’ll see her again.
We love and miss you, Mom! We know you’re now in a far better place!
We miss Jean. She was always devoted to the lives and concerns of her family. May she rest in peace as she and Ray are once again together.
