James Mobry Collette

James Mobry Collette was born January 29, 1922 in Washington, DC to Thomas and Maggie Collette. He peacefully departed this life at age 98 at Legacy Ridge Senior Living Home in Woodstock, GA, on December 24, 2020. James was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings.

He met his wife of 74 years when serving in the Army during World War II. He was a member of the 10th Calvary unit at West Point. He served in the Army Reserve and the National Guard from 1946 until he retired at age 62 with the rank of Master Sergeant.

James and Audrey Stansbury Collette raised four children. He will be remembered as a father who provided for and protected his children.

James M. Collette leaves to mourn: his wife Audrey Collette, son Joseph Lance Collette (Sherry), daughters, Rita Ann Collette, Carmen Rae Collette and Sherry Dale Parrish; grandchildren Rashida Atkinson (Phillip), Janice Parrish, Vincent Collette (Sharne), Nicholas Collette (Molly), Carlos Collette and Imani Collette; great grandchildren Theo, Cohen, London, Grace, Natalie, Sydney, a host of nieces and nephews, and beloved family friends of more than 70 years, Doris and Russell Boston.

The family will hold a private zoom Memorial Service on January 29, 2021. Reverend Carmen Collette will officiate.
