James Cooper Lane
James(Jack) C .Lane was born December 22, 1937 in Columbus GA and died July 6th in Dunwoody GA. Jack received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, graduating first in his class at Notre Dame. While there he was in the ROTC, and after graduation, he was a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army until 1961 and reserves until 1965. He was stationed at the U.S. Missile School, Ft. Bliss TX where he trained on NIKE Ajax and Hercules missile systems. He worked for BellSouth as an engineer from 1959 until retiring in 1993. After his retirement, he volunteered with PALS, helping seniors throughout the community.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Norma Casserly Lane; one son, Jim; 2 daughters; Fran(Jim) and their children; Harry and Maddie; Mary(Jeff) and their children; Cooper, Billy and Blake.
Services will be held at All Saints Catholic Church with reception immediately following. He will be interred at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at All Saints Catholic Church located at 2443 Mt. Vernon Rd., Dunwoody, GA 30338.
