Jack Hamby Littleton passed away August 1, 2018. Jack was born in Columbus, Georgia, on February 5, 1945, to the late Kathryn Hamby and Frank Mims Littleton. He attended Columbus High School, Auburn University, and the University of Georgia Law School. Despite spending three years in “Dawg Country,” his devotion to Auburn never wavered–War Damn Eagle!
Jack worked as an attorney for the General Assembly’s Office of Legislative Counsel for over 30 years. But work was only a small part of Jack’s life. He loved to golf and gamble at the dog track, go to beach in Florida, and watch football, both college and pro, live and on TV.
Jack is survived by his wife of 25 years, Beth Yinger, and by his beloved daughter, Allison Littleton. Jack is also survived by his adored granddaughters, Brooke and Summer Hodgkinson who made “Papa” young again. He is also survived by special friends, Rob and Riley Rowin.
Jack also leaves behind his brother, Frank Littleton, and a host of friends to cherish his memory.
An informal gathering to celebrate Jack’s life will be held at the porte-cochere at the Bell Tower at Historic Oakland Cemetery (parking available outside the main gate, follow signs to the Visitor’s Center) on August 4, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. Anyone wishing to say few words about Jack is welcome to. Requested attire is Hawaiian shirts, straw hats, or golf shirts. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to your local humane society. Jack loved his cats and all animals. |
