Helen S. Kite,98, passed away on August 25, 2018. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee. She was a graduate of Arkansas State University, and the first female president of her Senior class. She was a member of Who’s Who in American Universities and Colleges. While in college, she received her pilot’s license and later worked for the U.S. Navy as a Link Trainer Operator.

Helen and her family moved to Atlanta in 1962, where she became an active member of St. James United Methodist Church.  She taught adult Sunday School classes, was President of United Methodist Women, Circle leader, choir member, played with the St. James Belles (hand bells), Board member of AMIS, and chairman for the building of the first Habitat House that St. James sponsored.  She was also a member of Chapter O, in P.E.O. for over 60 years.

She is survived by 2 daughters, 4 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.

The Memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Methodist Church at 4400 Peachtree Dunwoody Rd. Atlanta, Georgia 30342.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested that memorial gifts be sent to St. James Methodist Church.
