We met Griff in the parking lot of the Peachtree Town Apartments in Atlanta, 1969. We were good friends at “First “Hello”….Several of us living there formed a club, The PTA , printed t-shirts, planned fun events, impromptu trips to the Florida beach. Sometimes we’d just gather in one of our apartments or in the parking lot to simply talk and laugh. David & I made a trip to Daytona with Griff & some of the other PTA-ers. We loved his Lockheed GLERC t-shirt & he gave us one. What fun we had, and Griff’s big personality added to every occasion! We left Atlanta in 1971, Griff & Cindy & Joann came to visit us in Kalamazoo, Michigan. We saw all there was to see, then jumped in the car , drove to Chicago and “did the town,” New Town!! HUGE snowstorm but we all survived the trip! We last saw Griff in mid 1990 when he visited us in San Antonio; he loved the Spurs game, the River Walk & the Hill Country! We stayed in touch with Christmas cards & emails. Then, a couple of years ago, we quit getting his patriotic email flyers, and wondered why. Today one of the PTA-ers was hoping to visit him on a trip Atlanta & saw he had passed! This sad news has been shared, and we are all deeply saddened. We speak of him all the time, we loved him and will never forget him. Our deepest sympathy to Griff’s family and friends. He had the Best Laugh on Earth, now he can share his wonderful laugh in Heaven. May he Rest in Peace and May God Bless and Keep him. Carol & David Nisbet, San Antonio, TX
