Gloria Dean Tabb

Gloria was born to the late Samuel and Rose Anna (McKibbens) Phelps on February 24, 1941. She was one of three children. She was married to the late Mr. Andrew A Tabb, Jr. and to this union she was blessed with two children. She is preceded in death by both her parents and her older sister.
She was a graduate of Washington High School here in Atlanta and the Grady School of Nursing Class of 1962. She was a devoted and caring nurse having worked for over twenty years at Grady Memorial Hospital, approximately five years at Crawford Long Memorial Hospital and the last 15 plus years of her career at Fulton County Health Centers. Most of her nursing career was in the care of mothers and their babies, especially teenage mothers.
She lived her life to the fullest being a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She loved God and has been in the church all her life. Though she was no longer able to serve like she did when she was younger, she still kept the faith. She has been a long standing member at Cascade United Methodist Church having joined under Rev. Kimbrough.
Dean, as she was affectionately called, transcended to everlasting life in the early morning of April 12, 2018, surrounded by her family.
Dean leaves to cherish her memories her children: Andrew Tabb, Andrea Tabb-Wilson (Lee); Grandchildren: Andrew O. Tabb (Lakeshia), Arnita Wilson, Louis Wilson, Zakiyy Tabb; Brother: Edward Phelps; Aunts: Ann Jackson, Dorothy Phelps. She also leaves behind four great-grandchildren, one niece, one nephew, one great nephew and multiple cousins and friends.
Memorial Services will be held April 27, 2018 at 11am at Cascade United Methodist Church, Dr. Kevin Murriel, Pastor.
