Dr. George delivered my daughter 25 years ago and I have been a patient ever since. He was truly the most wonderful, caring and enthusiastic Dr. I have ever had the pleasure knowing. The world is a much sadder place without Dr. George in it. Debbie, my heart breaks for you and your family and you will be in my prayers during this difficult time. God bless you.

Dr. George Long was a wonderful man and an amazing, charismatic Doctor. His personality was 1st class, it was always a joy to be in his presence. He recently delivered our baby girl and we will be forever grateful for him always going above and beyond to make us feel like family. Our prayers are with Debbie and sons.

  6. Claire Whitaker Taylor says:

The first time I met Dr. Long, I felt totally relieved that He would be the one to deliver my second child. I delivered my first child in another state so it was very scary to find a new doctor. After meeting Dr. George Long, I did not have a doubt or worry throughout my pregnancy. He was very professional and he had the best sense of humor. I was shocked to hear of his passing when I called to scheduled my 6 week check up. Then I became very sad that I would not ever see him again. Dr. Long was a doctor that I would actually look forward to seeing. When leaving his office I would always have a smile on my face. He was a great doctor. He will be missed by many. When I told my family that Dr. Long had passed my aunt was horrified, she said “He was one of the nicest persons I had ever met”. I will keep family and friends in prayer for Dr. George Long was very dear to me. I will never forget him.

  7. Angela Brown says:

I just received a call this morning about Dr. George and Dr. Crawford’s passing. I am so saddened and stunned that the world has lost both of these wonderful doctors. I was referred to Dr. George when Dr. Ed Bowen retired about 11 or so years ago. I immediately felt so relaxed and knew I was in great hands. His smiling face and sense of humor made every visit a pleasure. Dr. Crawford ended up being on call and delivered my son. That all three of these legendary doctors are not with us is such a loss for the Atlanta community, but I know they are laughing it up in Heaven! My prayers go out to the family especially at this time of year.

  8. Cheryle Thompson says:

I write this with tears in my eyes. I just found out about Dr George’s passing. My daughter and I share stories about Dr. George all the time. He and Daddy Long performed my surgery 3 years ago, and delivered my grandaughter in August. When I told my daughter about his passing she cried. She said she felt so comfortable with him because she knew he cared and he was so knowledgeable. You just knew you were receiving the best care possbile. She had an appointment set up with him for next month and is really depressed it won’t be with Dr. George. Both of us will miss his smile and laughter.

  9. Tina Bush says:

I remember visiting Dr. George Long after my third child was born. I was wondering why I didn’t find Dr. Long before I started having a family. He was funny, bright and seemed to possess a caring attitude. Every visit was pleasant with his kind staff and he made me feel at ease. I was so sad to just recently hear the news of his passing. It is hard to find doctors that have the dignity and class that Dr. George and his staff had for his patients. I referred him to several of my friends and family members and everyone unanimously agreed he was a great doctor.

My prayers are with the Long family.

Dr. George will truly be missed!

  11. Jennifer Nichols says:

Debbie, Crawford and Clarke: I cannot believe three years has passed since the amazing Dr George left us. I can only say I whole heartedly know he was the best doctor I have ever known and that is because he wasn’t just your doctor- he was your friend and supporter. He helped bring the three most amazing gifts into this world and not without much strife and many late night calls. I will forever remember his laughter, booming voice and seemingly endless compassion. My heart breaks a bit watching our videos of the babies because you can hear his voice throughout. I feel so blessed to ever have known him and will remember him forever.

  12. Arnetra Milliner says:

My mother asked me for Dr. Long’s contact information to refer a friend him. I searched and was devastated to learn of his passing. Dr. Long was hands down the best doctor ever. He made my journey to have a baby personal. I was high risk and he took care of me. He reassured me that he was placed on earth to help me have a baby. She arrived August 22, 2011. He and Dr. Spencer help deliver my only child. I lost my breath and cried uncontrollably when I found out of his passing. He was my angel from heaven to delivered my miracle from God. I pray that his family knows that he touched me and my family beyond words. I knew he was a man of faith when I met him and looked around his office. I know that you all miss him and pray the comfort of the Holy Spirit rests with you even now. I am devastated and will always let me daughter know of the Doctor that help me have her. Thank you Dr. Long for Skye Alexis Milliner. My person miracle from God. Now, you are with God and I pray that you receive all the crowns and rewards due to you for all your good works. You were truly my angel. I will always have the picture you took with my daughter to know that God heard and answer my prayers through you. I am crying again so I have got to stop. Just know your dad and husband was very special to my family. I thank God for him and the time he allowed him on earth to impact our lives so much. Remembering you always Dr. George Long. Offering prayers and condolences to your entire family for all your losses. Sincerely, Arnetra, Patient
