Fred Eugene Boeswetter

Ellijay, ‘GA – Fred Eugene Boeswetter, 86, previously of Pleasant Valley, NY, died at home in Ellijay Georgia on Sept. 29, 2011. Cause of death: COPD and CHF.
Born April 9, 1925, in Astoria Queens, NY, he was the son of Fred P. and Jennie Boesewetter, and had two sisters Hanna Boeswetter Smith, and Helen Boeswetter Jackson, both deceased.
Fred graduated from high school, and joined the US Navy during WW II, serving on air craft carriers, as an Aircraft Machinest Mate Second Class. He retired from IBM Corp in 1990, where he worked as an electrician and Maintenance Coordinator. He was a member of VFW Post 1302, in the Town of Poughkeepsie.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Deanne L. and John A. McKimmey, Ellijay, GA. His granddaughter, Danni L. Germano, Hollywood, FL, and grandson, Sean F. Maguire, Austin, TX. Two great grandchildren, Sophia L. Germano, 8, and Christian S. Germano, 3, of Hollywood, FL. Also two nephews, Alfred Christopher Smith, and Scott Smith, and a niece, Carla Jackson Hallick, where-abouts unknown.
Fred was cremated, and his ashes were buried in LaGrange Rural Cemetery, Poughkeepsie , NY, along side his parents. No services were held, per his request. Donations can be made in his name to the ASPCA or Humane Society to help homeless cats. Fred loved cats.

I’m sorry to read of your Father’s death.
I met him once many years ago when he was looking for a cat. He adopted Sissy and Red, two strays in need of a home. What happened to his kitties?
