Frank Louis Aitcheson III

Mr. Frank Louis Aitcheson III, of Atlanta, GA, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the age of 68. He was a man of exceptional kindness and grace, a devoted father and husband, and a friend who was genuinely loved by all who knew him.
Frank was born to Frank and Patricia on October 17, 1948 in Waycross, GA and grew up in Orlando, FL. He attended college at the University of Southern Mississippi and served as a Captain in the United States Army. He then worked for International Paper in Montreal. He was a stock broker for Merrill Lynch in Denver, CO and later a sales manager for Rehrig Pacific. He finally settled in Atlanta, where he studied law at Georgia State University and then practiced corporate and international law for several decades.
Frank married Carol Tipton in 1979 in Denver: they enjoyed 38 years of marriage, adventures, and happiness together. He will be lovingly remembered by Carol, his two daughters Nancy and Beth, his sister Trina McCarthy, and by countless others.
After many weeks of visits from friends and family members, Frank passed away peacefully at his home this past weekend, surrounded by his family.
Frank was unfailingly kind to other people: family, friends, clients, and even strangers were struck by his affability and warmth. He could strike up a conversation with absolutely anyone, asking thoughtful questions and taking a genuine interest in their lives.
Frank traveled the world for work and pleasure, he knew every shortcut and backroad in Atlanta, and he always enjoyed the journey as much as the destination. He loved the outdoors, where his natural grace was evident whether he was hiking, skiing, or fly-fishing. He always made time for other people, expecting nothing in return.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00am on Thursday, October 12 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church on 435 Peachtree St. A reception will follow at the same location. The family is grateful for all condolences, but In lieu of flowers would encourage donations to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
Dear Carol & family, I am so very sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you in your pain. May your wonderful memories keep him forever alive in your heart.
