Floyd Rush Jr. Age 76 passed away on Oct 14, 2013. He was born in Logansport, Indiana. He graduated from Logansport High School in 1955, and Indiana University in 1959. He was President of Phi Sigma Kappa. He started his banking career in Ft. Wayne Indiana with Lincoln National Life. He transferred to Atlanta, GA in 1963 as Assistant Manager of the mortgage department. He joined Fickling Walker Real Estate in 1967 as V P and Manager of the commercial mortgage department. In 1970 he obtained a real estate broker’s license. In 1974 he joined Bank of America Corporation as Division President of their commercial mortgage loan company and became the first person hired by BAC east of the Mississippi. He was President of the Mortgage Bankers Association in 1980. He retired from BAC in 1988. In 1990 he joined the Resolution Trust Corporation RTC, as part of the FDIC effort to straighten out the savings and loan industry. He served the FDIC until 1996. He left to start a successful residential development company with his partner. His interests include tennis where he served as Alta coordinator for ten years, and was a Master’s bridge player who loved competing. He loved traveling and served as President of the Georgia Fun Seekers, a social group of motorhome owners. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Rush Sr, Anna Rush, and a sister Marilyn Nulf. Mr. Rush is survived by his wife of 32 years Joan E. Rush. Other survivors include son David Rush, his wife Cassie, step daughter Amber, and great grandson Jacob, daughter Barbara Rush, grandson Drew Cline, all of N.C. His family and friends remember him as an honest and loyal man who always had a smile and a great sense of humor. Memorial Services will be held Nov 2, at 11:00 AM at St. Martins in the Fields Episcopal Church at 3110 Ashford Dunwoody Road, Atlanta. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Suthers Center 3550 Broad St. Suite F Chamblee, Ga. 30341.

    Dear Joan…so shocked to learn of Floyd’s passing…he was a sweet man and will be missed by so many of us! We wondered if he were ill when we didn’t see him with the DWC last Sunday! Our sincerest sympathy to you and your family! Hugs from us both!

    I and the family are truly sorry to hear of Uncle Floyd’s passing. He led life with good humor and generosity with his family and friends. We nephews had many fun visits to Floyd and his family he always liked to try out his new jokes on us it seems. We will miss him always.
