Filomena Giovanina Weiss, born February 23, 1932, in Jamaica, New York, died at home in Hoschton, Georgia, on Monday, April 27, 2015.
Survivors include her children; Robert Anita Blomquist, of Bayshore, New York, Melinda Kenneth Rizzo, of Swedesboro, New Jersey, Richard Carol Blomquist of East Islip, New York, Peter Teri Blomquist, of Hoschton, Georgia, Maria Shawn Doogan of Charleston, South Carolina, her brothers Philip Brigitte Giorgi, of Northport, New York and Robert Theresa Giorgi, of Port Jefferson, New York, numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and two great-grandchildren. Filomena was preceded in death by her husband, Harold J. Weiss.
Services will be held on Friday, May 8th at 1 p.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 6439 Spout Springs Road, Flowery Branch, Georgia. Relatives and friends are welcome at the service and the reception immediately following. Burial will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday May 10th at The Church of the Cross, 110 Calhoun Street, Bluffton, South Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are welcome and should be mailed to the Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Inc., 2150 Limestone Parkway, Suite 222, Gainesville, Georgia 30501.

    We only just learned of Fil’s passing. We hadn’t talked with her since she called us from the Mayo Clinic and have been wondering about her. We lived next door to her and Harold for 8 yrs. in Sun City H. Head and had many good times with them. Fil was such lovely person. Of course, you all know that she was an excellent cook. Please accept our condolences.
