Guestbook

  1. Jon & Jennifer Benson says:

The mold was broken when Doug was created… There was no one like him! We are so glad that we knew him! He will be missed!

  2. Martin Rueter says:

I was Doug’s “best friend” here at Peachtree Hills Place. We hung out together, broke bread together, shared history and business tales together — I was honored to be his best friend.

But I’ve since discovered that Doug harbored multiple “best friends,” scores of them, who’ve shared similar stories of Doug’s kindness, affability, self-deprecation, and empathy for just about everyone with whom he connected.

His passing was a gut punch to all of us, his best friends, another reminder that life is fleeting but offers limitless opportunities to help, encourage, influence, and love others. Doug’s greatest legacy are all of us who hope to emulate his unforgettable decency, gentleness, and selflessness.

    Rest in peace, best friend.

    Marty and Toni Rueter

  3. Judy Pearce says:

We just learned of Doug’s passing today 1/3/24..Kirk and I have known him for years and visited him often in Destin, FL and his retired residence in Mexico. He was a brilliant landscape architect, a dear friend, and a wonderful person. His kindness, generosity, and witty personality affected everyone he met. He will be greatly missed.
