Eugene Curran
1922 – 2017

Eugene Curran went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 18 following a brief illness. He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Joan Elizabeth Curran, his son Michael Jon Curran and wife Michele, his daughter Martha Curran Kemp and husband Carl, four grandchildren; Christine Pearson, Maygan Lanigan, Chase Branham, and Kevin Kemp, seven great grandchildren, and many close friends.

Born in New Castle, Indiana, he was proceeded in death by his parents Jeffrey and Louva Curran, and brother Geoffrey Curran. He was a resident of Atlanta for 52 years and considered it his home.

Mr. Curran attended Michigan State University where he met Joan Pomeroy as a freshman. They were married three years later and completed school at University of Cincinnati. Upon graduation he worked for Crosley Corporation in Cincinnati as an Engineer. He moved to Michigan in 1950 to join a fraternity brother in operating a hardwood flooring production company. He moved his family to Atlanta in 1965 and continued in the hardwood flooring business until retirement in 1985.

Mr. Curran was an active member in Dunwoody United Methodist Church and Dunwoody Country Club and was an avid golfer.

A memorial service will be held at Dunwoody United Methodist Church on Saturday, August 26th at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dunwoody United Methodist Church, 1548 Mt Vernon Rd., Dunwoody, GA 30338.
