Ethel R. Chapman

Ethel Randolph Chapman died in Atlanta on September 27, 2010 at the age of 87. She had been in declining health due to Alzheimer’s. She was born in Calcutta India on October 22, 1922. The eldest child of Innis Randolph and Dorothy Mann. Colonel Randolph was the head of General Motors India at the time. The family returned to the US where she was raised in Wilton, CT. She attended schools in Connecticut and Chatham Virginia. During WWII she worked for Lend Lease in NYC where she met her future husband, the late Albert William Chapman who was working in his capacity as a member of the UK team. They married in NYC and after the war spent a year in Britain before returning to America in 1947. She was the mother of six children. William NormaCooper, Peter, Robert, Stephendeceased;Linda, Michael Janet, Lucy Millar Ken, eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. Interment will be at a later date
