Emily Pearl Jorgenson, age 70, passed from this life to her Heavenly reward on Saturday, June 6, 2020, at Northside-Forsythe Hospital. She was born August 27, 1949, in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Rev. Wilbur and Mary (Stewart) Jorgenson. She graduated from Georgia State University and began a career with Southern Bell. Emily retired after 45 years of dedicated service.
Emily was active in the Pilot International service organization, serving as the Georgia Northwest Region Lt. Governor, Georgia District Treasurer, Secretary and Club President. She was especially passionate about the Georgia Artists with DisAbilities, coordinating fundraising events to showcase this art and support the organization.
Emily enjoyed traveling, reading and spending time with her nieces, nephews and great-nephews. Those times brought joy to her soul and she spread her fun and laughter to each of them.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Timothy Stuart Jorgenson. Emily is survived by one brother, Nathan and wife (Lynne), of Fayetteville, Ark.; a sister, Kirsten Jorgenson, of Sugar Hill, Ga; 2 nephews, 3 nieces, and 2 great-nephews.
Emily will be remembered in a private family service. It is hoped that a celebration of her life will be held in the future to share memories with her many friends. In lieu of flowers, donations in Emily’s memory can be made to the Georgia Artists with DisAbilities
