Elaine S. Keith Macdonald of Smyrna, Georgia died unexpectedly April 26, 2015 at the age of 69. She is survived by her husband, Robert N. Macdonald, sons Casey Keith Teresa and Brendan Keith, stepdaughters Carey and Heather, grandchildren Matthew, Amy, James, and Curran. She also is survived by sister Bette S. Long Eric, brother James L. Sheldon Shirley, sister in law Rev. Jaclyn Sheldon, and seven beloved nieces and nephews. Brother William P. Sheldon and parents Frank P. and Celeste H. Sheldon predeceased her.

Elaine grew up in Manchester, Connecticut, and then took her degree in Elementary Education at Simmons College, Boston, where she was class president for two years and member of the synchronized swim team. After teaching elementary school in Englewood, New Jersey, she took her Masters of Arts in Education Degree at the University of Texas, followed by rewarding years as a reading specialist at the Atlanta Speech School. Elaine then unleashed her gifts for color and design with Elaine Keith Studio. She produced exquisite paintings, hand-painted silk garments, jewelry and memorable photographs of nature’s beauty.

Elaine was raised in the Episcopal Church and for many years was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Atlanta where she loved singing in the choir and service as a lay assistant. Although she lived with debilitating pain for many years, Elaine remained determined, creative, and passionate in her love of family, friends, object d’art, gardening, music, and her and Bob’s cats.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 2:30 p. m. at St. Benedict’s Episcopal Church, 2160 Cooper Lake Road, Smyrna 30080 access Atlanta Rd. to Daniel St. to Cooper Lake Rd.
