She was born on September.16, 1927 in Asheville N. C. to Lewis H. Johnson and Mary Josephine Forshaw Johnson. She was predeceased by her husband Carl E. Nelson, Jr. in 2009 Mrs. Nelson had five children, six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
