Dorothy Anne Milligan Mattie, 91, of Atlanta, GA passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 16, 2012. During her lifetime, Dorothy accomplished many things but she was proudest of her family. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 65 years, James Lemont Mattie; her daughter, Sharon Chope of Bloomfield Hills, MI; her son, Richard Mattie and daughter-in-law, Jane, of Norcross, GA; her grandson, James Chope and his fiancé, Aadika Singh of Washington DC; her granddaughter, Caroline Way and husband, David, of W. Bloomfield, MI; and great grandchildren, Annie and Kenny Way of W. Bloomfield, MI.

Among Dorothy’s many accomplishments, she was a graduate of Kent State University, an active member of Delta Gamma Sorority and a member of North Avenue Presbyterian Church for over 55 years.

A memorial service will be held at North Avenue Presbyterian Church on Saturday, January 19th at 4 PM. Officiating at the service will be Dr. Scott Weimer and Rev. Frank
Eldridge. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be sent to North Avenue Presbyterian Church’s International Class, which Dorothy and Jim helped to establish and loved dearly.

    Neale and I send our prayers and sympathy to her family at this time of loss. Dorothy was a strong woman of great faith and many good deeds. She especially loved the Women of the Church at North Avenue and the International who found hospitality in her lovely home. She has impacted many in her life with her faith, hope and love. She served with great energy and creativity. We will always miss her.
