David Ralph Eubanks
David R. Eubanks – Born in Macon, GA on August 21, 1947, son of Charles Ralph Eubanks and Dorothy Slappey Eubanks, died February 29, 2024.
David was predeceased by brothers Donald and John Eubanks. He is survived by sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews, cousins, a large contingent of Slappey family members, and by very solid long-term friends.
He attended Lanier High School in Macon, followed by Florida Southern College in Lakeland. He served in the US Army’s Finance Corps on Okinawa. He obtained an MBA from Georgia State University and profession-related certifications. A long term resident of Atlanta, he worked at EEOC followed by a full career at MARTA. Post-retirement he served in various HR contract assignments, always interspersed with travel.
An avid Lake Rabun enthusiast he loved sharing Lake-time with family and friends. He enjoyed mountains, farm, coast, road trips, and later in life happily walking long distance trails across foreign lands. He was a strong believer in the Mark Twain quote that “Travel is Fatal to Prejudice, Bigotry, and Narrow-mindedness”.

Hope you are soaring and exploring the rest of the places you always wanted to see.
Happy trails David, until we meet again.
Love ya lots,
Dino

Dear David,
Lake Rabun was our shared treasure.
I will always love my friendship with you at our Moose Mansion. Save me a spot with you in heaven🙏💓
Love. Margie
You were one of a kind, David., and will be missed by the wide group of friends and relatives whose lives are better for having known you. Rest in peace and see you later.
David, I look forward to being neighbors again in eternity. I’ll miss our conversations as you walked by my house on your way to the park.
You are one of the kindest people I have ever known. As your neighbor at Lake Rabun I watched you tireless tow skiers, entertain guests and lovingly work on your beautiful home. You were a role model for me. I will miss your smile and that cute chuckle. I know you are looking down on us now, for if anyone ever deserved to be in heaven, it is you.
David, I have been thankful for you in my life for over 60 years. Your kindness and gentleness helped me stay grounded during my teen years in Macon. You and Kate helped me laugh and stay sane as we all moved through time. The thought of you has always and will always warm my heart. Love love love
David, I have been thankful for you in my life for over 60 years when you and Ralph came down to welcome me to the neighborhood. Oh the kindness, the giggles, the adventures we shared. You have and will continue to live in my heart.
Although our friendship only goes back 10 years, you have felt like family from the very first day we met you for lunch at Peachtree Battle. I can think of no kinder, more selfless, person than David Eubanks. You loved and cared for mutual home at Lake Rabun with your heart and soul, and your spirit will forever be part of that “cabin in the woods”. You are dearly missed, my friend.
Picture of David above is great, the smile, the back ground, he loved the water. Every minute I ever spent with David was great, never a bad time, he had a good vibe and it was contagious. Lots of good memories. I loved David just like everyone who ever met him.
David was one of the kindest, most thoughtful and caring people I have ever met. He was a great friend to my mother, who is a Holocaust survivor, and although she lived in Chapel Hill, sent her the Jewish film festival schedule from Atlanta every year. He was funny and generous and always sent the best cards for any occasion. He loved to learn, and was always curious and open to new experiences. I suspect he will pass into this next state of being with grace and at peace. Love from Barbara and family

We grew up as three boys next door to three girls and we loved each other for all of those years. We laughed and cried together. We even saved each other when necessary. I hope that you and Donald and John will meet me when my turn comes. I look forward to seeing your precious face always full of love. Your loving Big sister next door neighbor,
Tatie
Rest in Power.
My dear neighbor David, you are greatly missed. It’s hard to believe we won’t have more fun chats over our fence and hear about all your adventures,… and that sweet chuckle of yours! You were such a treasure. That Blue Iris you gave us 12 years ago because it bloomed in your garden the very day my son was born? It keeps blooming like clockwork, every year. What a wonderful way this will be to remember you. Thank you for everything! Rest in peace, sweet neighbor.
