Resided in: Dunwoody, GA

David Eugene Jackson, Sr., of Dunwoody, GA, passed away peacefully at home on April 27, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Louise Lou Jackson, three sons, David E. Bo Jackson, Jr. Carla, James L. Jackson, and Stuart A. Jackson Robyn; four grandchildren, Tyler L. Jackson, Courtney L. Jackson, David E. Jackson, III, and Stanley C. C. Jackson. Dave has one sister surviving, Helen Russell, of Biloxi, Ms., and various nephews and nieces, one of whom is Vickie Beggs, of Marietta, GA. His nephew, Jim Mathia, was visiting Dave when he passed away.

Dave was a retired executive with AT&T in the Engineering Department and was an active member of the Telecom Pioneers. He attended Mississippi State University and graduated from Mississippi College. He was a long-time member of Ansley Golf Club, where he was a participant in the Seniors Golf Group for many years. Dave was born in south Mississippi and was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in Germany with the U. S. Army Signal Corps.

Everyone who knew Dave was impressed with his quiet goodness; he was a kind, gentle man with a dry wit. He listened more than he spoke. He set an example of what a good husband and father should be. He could fix, repair, or build anything. He always was ready to help anyone anytime and was a man of unrivaled integrity.

There will be a memorial service for Dave at 10:00 a. m. on Saturday, May 3, at the First Presbyterian Church Chapel, 1328 Peachtree St., NE, Atlanta, Ga. with a reception afterwards in Fifield Hall at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to the Franklin County Education Cooperative Scholarship Fund, Attention Brad Jones, P. O. Box 605, Meadville, Mississippi 39653, Telephone 601-384-2340. This fund provides a college scholarship for every high school graduate in the county. Both Dave and Lou attended school in Franklin County.
