David Bauer Tuttle

David Bauer Tuttle, 70, died Nov. 30, 2024 in Atlanta, GA. Friends and family will celebrate and remember his life on Jan. 13, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at All Saint’s Episcopal Church.
Born Jan. 3, 1954, in Boston to Elbert P Tuttle, Jr., MD and Virginia Bauer Tuttle, he moved to Ansley Park in 1955, and attended The Westminster Schools (class of 1972). Tragically, David was killed by an act of gun violence when an assailant carjacked his vehicle.
He was a beloved husband, brother, son, uncle, and friend. A renaissance man, artist, collector, and master craftsman, he was a creative, kind and eccentric soul. His curiosity and talents knew no bounds. Whether cooking a gourmet meal, building heirloom-quality furniture, restoring a home, or painting a loved one’s portrait, he brought beauty into the world.
David’s life, with many twists, joys and challenges, led him to both a deep faith in God and an ability to relate to people from all walks of life. When he had little, he sought and accepted help, and when he had enough to share, he always did so.
He is survived by Luz Helena Hansen, who walked hand in loving-hand with him for 21 years, his two sisters, Jane and Beth Tuttle, along with nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews who will miss his quick-wit and stories. He is preceded in death by his brothers Guy and Richard Tuttle, as well as his parents, Virginia and Elbert, his brother-in-law, David Cannon and his nephew, David Rouse. He was grandson of federal jurist Elbert Parr Tuttle, Sr. and Sara Sutherland Tuttle of Atlanta and Ralph and Evelyn Bauer of Wausau Wisconsin.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in David’s memory to Everytown for Gun Safety.
