Charles Yates

Charles Yates, 83, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, passed away March 18, 2015. He was born in Marion, KY to Trice Warren Yates and Marguerite Bigham Yates. He and his widow, Barbara Ann Barnett Yates, were married on December 30, 1950 and recently celebrated their 64th anniversary.

He served in the Air force during the Korean War and was stationed at Lackland Air Force Base. Afterwards, Charlie attended Trinity University. Upon graduation, he went to work for Texaco, Inc., where he was employed until his retirement in 1986.

Charlie was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and after retiring, spent many hours as a volunteer.

He is survived by his children, Charlotte Ron Weber, Lawrenceville, GA and Charles Yates, Jr., Memphis TN, his brother Morris Jeanette Yates, Madisonville KY, grandchildren Matthew Sasha Weber, Dunwoody, GA, Trent Aimee Weber, Snellville, GA, and great-grandchildren Lily Elizabeth Weber, Micah Reeves Weber, and Heidi Mae Weber.
