Chuck Wood died in his sleep on December 21, 2012 at his home in Alpharetta, Georgia. Chuck was born and raised in Rochester, New York and graduated from John Marshall High School. Following high school, he joined Eastman Kodak Company in the Film Processing Division. He played baseball and semi-pro soccer. He joined the Army Air Corps and was stationed in Texas at Navigational School. He and Betty Love were married in 1943 in San Marcos, Texas. Chuck also was a skillful photographer and watercolor artist. He played golf for many years and was a member of Rivermont Golf Club. He loved gardening and travel, and enjoyed a special trip with Betty on the Danube River. Chuck was a member of Alpharetta First United Methodist Church, where he sang with the men’s choir for several years. Chuck is survived by his wife, Betty Love Wood, and several beloved nieces and nephews of New York, Idaho, Arizona, and Maryland. A memorial service for Chuck Wood will be held at Alpharetta First United Methodist Church on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow.
