Charles Roland Hughes

Charles Roland Buddy Hughes, 81, died on April 14th after a long bout with cancer.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 25 at 4 PM at Oakhurst Presbyterian Church, 118 Second Ave, Decatur 30030. Hughes was an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church USA. He served as a missionary in Brazil, Mexico and Nicaragua. He also served a term as Latin America Secretary for the Presbyterian Church US and was chaplain at Arkansas now Lyon College in Batesville, AR. He is survived by his wife, Anne Fishwick Hughes; four children: Vicki Krampf of Hopewell, NJ; Janet Hughes of Raleigh, NC; David Hughes of Decatur, GA; and Kenneth Sghia-Hughes of Acton, MA; a sister, Peggy Johnson of Roanoke, VA; and a brother, John Hughes, of Staunton, VA. The Hughes are blessed with 12 grandchildren. Memorials may be sent to Oakhurst Presbyterian Church or to the Presbyterian Peacemaking Program, 100 Witherspoon St., Louisville, KY 40202
