Cesar Celedonio Berenguer

1942 – 2024
Cesar “Abo” Berenguer of Decatur Georgia was born in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba. He went to Heaven peacefully on February 23, 2024. Cesar was 81 years of age.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Carmen Castellanos Berenguer, and his three children: Cesar C. Berenguer, Jr (Dena); Carmen M. Berenguer (Dan) and Craig C. Berenguer and his five grandchildren: Cole Berenguer, Jack Clower, Tyler Berenguer, Ryan Berenguer and Clayton Verner (Brittany) and a great grandchild Bentley Verner. Furthermore, he is survived by his sister in law Ophe Houston, niece Carmen Castleberry (Robert), grandniece Megan Ramos (Jhonatan) and his five brothers and sisters families: Robert Berenguer and nephews Johann (Johanna), Michael, and Christian, and great grandniece/grandnephew Alyssa and Brandon; Carlos Berenguer and nephew/niece Gaston and Yenfa; Aristides Berenguer (Sandra) and niece Tatiana; Adita Berenguer and nephew/niece Julio Cesar and Miriam; Esperanza Berenguer and nephew Manuel Alejandro.
Cesar grew up in Cuba then left in 1962 to come to the United States. He moved to Atlanta, GA in 1962 where he married Carmen on Oct 31, 1964. He worked many jobs in the Atlanta area but is most remembered owning his two businesses: United TV and RSI remodeling, each for over 25 years. Cesar was well known in the Hispanic community of Atlanta and was awarded Businessman of the year in 1991.
Cesar was a member of IHM Catholic Church and participated in the Cursillo as well as the Ultreya movements. The Catholic Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, March 2 at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, with a visitation at 10:00 AM and a reception to follow at the IHM School cafeteria.
